Before setting off on your adventure, each player will choose one of three randomly drawn Character Trait cards. There are 30 unique cards, each with a variety of abilities and powers.

Since Character Traits may add trade-offs in one ability for strength in another, some may have a specific number of potential uses, and others can rewards certain types of actions.

Other Character Traits allow you to gain Fate Tokens which can be spent to trigger powerful effects when you need them to overcome difficult situations. Some can even become Awakened through careful use, leading to the unlocking of new abilities as you play.
